Congratulations to Social Value Indonesia on a great success in the first ever Social Value Accelerator program!
Tell us a bit more about Social Value Indonesia
Previously named as SROI Network Indonesia, launched on December 2014 on the first SROI practitioner training in Indonesia with Jeremy Nicholls, founder of SROI Network UK (now Social Value International). Social Value Indonesia is legally registered as association on late 2016 and formally become Joint Member Network of Social Value International in July 2018.
Our missions are:
To improve impact measurement study in Indonesia
To develop the capacities of social investment practitioner
To create a multi-parties synergy to develop various methods and techniques
Why did Social Value Indonesia decide to take part in the first ever Social Value Accelerator program?
Some of us already involved in the beginning of SROI method development in Indonesia, implement it to cases, even establish positioning as a consultant partner to any company or organization that needs assisting in impact management. But as a machine that needs to calibrate, we need to refresh our knowledge – following the latest improvement on principles or methods.
Furthermore, we see the growing potential in Indonesia, as per 2021 there is a new policy to include SROI as social innovation in PROPER. PROPER is a program from the Ministry of Forestry and Environment that aims to increase the role of companies in sustainable development by managing the environment, efficient use of resources, and involvement in community development.
By this program, the interest in using SROI to measure impact is escalating. To fulfil the demands while to ensure that the SROI method is well-implemented, Social Value Indonesia discuss the possibility to boost our capacities as in the Acceleration Program to Social Value International. We’re happy to have full support from Social Value International and ready to take the next journey.
As part of the Social Value Accelerator Program, 10 people from Social Value Indonesia have just passed the Level 1 exam – congratulations! Can you tell why it was so important to achieve Level 1?
Thank you, the Social Value Accelerator Program really help us to broaden our perspective on impact management and elaborate the theoretical to the cases we handle.
As we want to increase the awareness of social value, we need trust from clients. That trust could come from our status as Level 1 Social Value Associate which means our capabilities already verified by international community – Social Value International. We also happy to connect with all practitioners from all over the world, who have the same concern on impact management. So that we could always following the latest trend on social value and sharing issues or best practices with other practitioners or professionals.
Can you tell us a bit more about what achieving Level 1 status means?
What is next for Social Value Indonesia?
We stick to our mission to increase awareness of impact management and develop a productive collaboration to improve the quality of social value implementation in Indonesia. By doing this, we also want to validate our capabilities by pursuing the Social Value Professional Pathway; and deliver the services afterward. Even though, the biggest challenge is to adjust all the knowledge, skills, and experience gained in a local context (a.k.a. Indonesia).
We are open for any discussion and collaboration to achieve the goal ;)
