SVI welcomes four new Trustees and celebrates those who have shaped the social value movement
SVI is pleased to announce a new chapter in its governance, with the appointment of new members to its Board of Trustees and the development of a new Strategic Communications Advisory Group. It is also offering a heartfelt thank you to the departing board members whose leadership has helped define what SVI is today.
Introducing SVI’s new Trustees
SVI welcomes four new Trustees to the SVI Board. With combined expertise in community engagement, public policy, finance, sustainability and impact management, the Trustees will provide invaluable insight and fresh perspectives that will help SVI its Global Network embed social value at the heart of decision-making, everywhere.
John Tamihere
Chair of the Board
John is Chief Executive of Te Whānau o Waipareira and the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency, one of the world's most established indigenous-led outcomes commissioning organisations. For more than 30 years, he has held senior leadership roles across government, business and the community sector, helping shape approaches to social investment, wellbeing and systems change. Widely recognised for his leadership in commissioning and social value, John brings extensive experience in translating values into practical action, measurable outcomes and long-term impact for communities.
"Social value has become one of the defining conversations of our time. Across governments, businesses and civil society, there is growing recognition that understanding what truly matters requires us to look beyond traditional measures of success. SVI has played a critical role in advancing this global movement, helping to strengthen the principles, practice and credibility of social value around the world. I am honoured to take on the role of Independent Chair and look forward to supporting the organisation's continued leadership as we work to embed social value thinking into decision-making at every level.”
David Wray
Treasurer
David brings more than 25 years of senior finance leadership experience across multinational corporations and medium-sized enterprises in North America, Europe and China, with over a decade specialising in the integration of sustainability into strategic planning, financial analysis and decision-making. A highly experienced learning and development professional, David has designed and delivered finance, ESG and sustainability training programmes for Fortune 500 companies and SMEs, reaching more than 10,000 professionals globally. He also mentors leaders in nonprofit organisations on their sustainability journeys.
“One of the challenges organisations face is understanding how to strengthen the way the business operates; doing so for the benefit of the organisation itself, people and the environment. Joining SVI’s Board provides an opportunity to help create clearer linkages for business decision-making for the betterment of all”
Revathi Sharma Kollegala
Trustee
Revathi (Rev) works at the crossroads of sustainability, technology, ethics, and policy, with a deep commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) principles. She joins the SVI board at a pivotal moment when AI, evolving financial systems, and a shift in global power are fundamentally reshaping how value is defined and measured. Her background spans community-designed frameworks for data governance, ethical AI policy, co-chairing a council to ensure transparency in valuation, and holding organisations accountable for their climate resilience commitments. She brings a Global South perspective to all her roles, including as trustee of the International Institute for Environment and Development and advisor to the Landscape Alliance.
“As rapid advances in AI and geopolitical shifts reshape the world order and financial systems, SVI's work on who measures value, how, and who benefits has never been more important. I'm excited to join the board to help ensure that as those frameworks evolve, we build a future that is genuinely prosperous and just for everyone.”
Siobhan Henderson
Trustee
Siobhan leads Australian Unity's social impact work, including the Australian Unity Wellbeing Index and their wellbeing outcomes measurement framework. This framework assigns a financial value to Australian Unity's social impact, which is used in reporting and informing strategic and investment decisions.
She brings meaningful experience in aligning organisational strategy and commercial endeavours with meaningful positive social impact.
“I think the biggest opportunity right now is moving from proving social value to embedding it. We’ve done a lot of work to show that it matters—the next step is making it part of everyday decision-making, not an add-on. That’s harder, but also where the real impact sits.”

Introducing our Strategic Communications Sub-Committee
Alongside board appointments, SVI is introducing a new Strategic Communications Sub-Committee, designed to support the Board in strengthening SVI's voice, reach, and influence. The Sub-Committee will be led by Peter Paul Van de Wijs who has been appointed by SVI as a Senior Advisor.
Peter Paul van de Wijs
Peter Paul brings nearly three decades of experience at the intersection of sustainability, public policy, and stakeholder engagement, including senior roles at Dow and, most recently, as External Affairs Officer at the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
His career spans advocacy at European institutional level, coalition-building at UN summits, and issues management for major multinational organisations — expertise that will be invaluable as SVI navigates an increasingly complex policy and reporting landscape.
Changes in governance are a moment to say thank you, both to our outgoing Board members and incoming Trustees and Advisors for their energy and expertise. Together, they reflect the strength and breadth of the social value community we are proud to foster.
