The SVI Level 1: Social Value Associate Exam is Now Available in Arabic

At Social Value International (SVI), we are on a mission to change the way society accounts for value through principles, practice, people, and power. As interest in the social value movement continues to expand globally, the MENA region stands out as an area of rising momentum and urgent need. By translating our Level 1: Social Value Associate exam into Arabic, we aim to remove one of the key barriers that Arabic-speaking professionals face when it comes to furthering the social value movement in their region

“Arabic-speaking professionals have a seat at the table in shaping
how we measure and manage social value worldwide.”

Why is this translation important?

The Principles of Social Value offer powerful tools for understanding and improving the impact we have on people and the planet. Yet for many Arabic-speaking professionals, language has remained a barrier to accessing training, resources, and international recognition.

For the first time, practitioners who speak Arabic can access the SVI Level 1: Social Value Associate exam in their native language, making it easier to embark on SVI‘s Social Value Professional Pathway. This opens doors for individuals and organisations across the MENA region to build their expertise, gain international recognition, and contribute more confidently to the global impact community. It sends a strong message: Arabic-speaking professionals have a seat at the table in shaping how we measure and manage social value worldwide.

This step builds on the foundational work already completed by SV Arabia in translating The Guide to SROI into Arabic. It’s a tangible example of our commitment to inclusion and improving access to tools that support better decision-making for social impact.

What is the Level 1: Social Value Associate exam?

It’s the first step on SVI’s Social Value Professional Pathway, offering an entry point for individuals seeking recognition of their knowledge of the Principles of Social Value and the application of these Principles in practice. It validates a foundational understanding of how to apply social value thinking in real-world contexts and serves as a formal certification that strengthens credibility in the fields of social value, impact management, and sustainability.

Khulood Hindiyeh, an SVI Accredited trainer and Level 3 Advanced Practitioner who led the translation effort, shared powerful insights:

“As a social impact expert from the Arab region, I’ve seen a growing demand for tools and knowledge in Impact Measurement and Management (IMM). Yet, most available resources are in English, making it difficult for Arabic-speaking professionals to access and apply these important concepts.”

She explains that the translation was a direct response to real demand:

“The translation of the Level 1: Social Value Associate exam into Arabic was driven by direct requests from individuals and organisations across the MENA region who are eager to develop their skills and gain international recognition in this field."

Khulood also emphasised the broader significance of this step:

“In a time when our region faces significant social, economic, and humanitarian challenges, focusing on impact and valuing the difference we make is more important than ever. This translation is not just about language; it’s about making knowledge accessible and empowering more people to create positive change.”

And finally, a personal call to action:

“I personally felt a responsibility to make this knowledge available to every Arabic speaker who is passionate about making a difference in their community and the world. To those considering taking the exam in Arabic - this is your opportunity to advance your career, strengthen your practice, and be part of a growing movement for change in our region.

Language inclusion is a key component of building global standards that are equitable. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to growing a diverse and multilingual professional community and to making tools and recognition more accessible to practitioners around the world.
We encourage anyone interested in ‘leveling-up’ to start their IMM journey with us or by sharing this milestone with your network.
