About Naonga Shawa Banda: Level 2 Accredited Practitioner

Naonga Banda is Co-Director of the Time + Tide Foundation, where she provides strategic leadership across education, health, conservation and community development programmes in Zambia and Madagascar. With over 15 years' experience in the international development sector, her background spans programme management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and strategic leadership.

Naonga began her career in traditional monitoring and evaluation, designing results frameworks, developing indicators, strengthening data systems, and supporting organisations to use evidence to improve programme quality and accountability. Her interest has since evolved from measuring programme performance to understanding and managing the broader social value created through development interventions.

Naonga led the Social Return on Investment (SROI) evaluation of the Time + Tide Foundation's Student Sponsorship Programme. In her current role, she oversees the organisation's response to SROI findings across its wider programme portfolio, ensuring that social value and impact evidence are translated into practical improvements in programme design, strategic planning and organisational decision-making.

Naonga is particularly interested in helping organisations move beyond measuring impact to using evidence to make better decisions, strengthen programmes and create greater value for the communities they serve.
