What is the Standards Committee?

Who is involved?

SVI Standards Committee is a collective body uniting experienced practitioners of social value who represent our global membership to ensure the following: 

  • SVI Standards represent best practice for applying the Principles of Social Value 

  • SVI Guidance is produced timely and addresses the key challenges experienced by practitioners in applying the Principles 

  • SVI training, assurance and accreditation reflect the current state of the Standards and Guidance

There are currently 15 members on the Standards Committee representing Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, and Oceania. [Link to the list of members] 

All members are accredited or advanced practitioners of social value, with diverse experience of accounting for social value, SROI analyses and helping organisations to embed impact measurement and improve decision-making. Many of the members are also accredited as trainers and report assurance assessors, which is especially valuable to ensure alignment and consistency in application of the standards in training, practice and assurance.

What it does?

The members of the committee:

Review sector-specific guidance and case studies produced by Working Groups focusing on the most widespread challenges or gaps in the core guidance

Engage with the SVI members in regular open discussion sessions to identify the key issues to be addressed by the Standards Committee through development of new guidance, updates to training and assurance.
